A powerful earthquake struck western Nepal on November 3, 2023, resulting in hundreds of deaths and leaving hundreds more injured and displaced. The earthquake led to subsequent landslides, creating barriers to search and rescue efforts and causing massive damage to community infrastructure. Search and rescue efforts have now been concluded, and humanitarian aid is now the primary focus. The following organizations are providing aid to impacted communities in the form of emergency supplies and medical services. This Fund was created to honor the contributions and culture of Hispanic and Latino Americans. A powerful and devastating 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit western Afghanistan on October 7, 2023, primarily impacting the city of Herat, with thousands of reported deaths and thousands more injured. Villages, infrastructure, and homes have been destroyed, and relief efforts are currently underway. Your donation to this Fund will help these organizations meet their shared goal of providing both immediate and long-term relief, the latter of which is currently under assessment. As the Israel-Gaza conflict erupts again, victims of violence are experiencing great humanitarian need. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is currently providing direct aid to civilians and humanitarian aid workers impacted, including medical resources, among other services. The floods in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, have caused extensive destruction, affecting communities, infrastructure, and livelihoods. Heavy rainfall has resulted in rivers overflowing, inundating homes, roads, and farmland. Over a million people have been displaced, and many areas remain inaccessible due to floodwaters. Critical infrastructure, including bridges, roads, and power lines, has been damaged, disrupting transportation and communication networks. The Luz Alliance Fund is delivering critical aid to people in extreme vulnerability by supporting initiatives focused on various emergency fronts. A portion of the funds raised will be used to support reconstruction efforts in the region. About Luz Alliance Fund: Established in 2020 by Gisele Bündchen in partnership with BrazilFoundation, the Luz Alliance Fund initially supported communities during COVID-19. Since 2021, it has focused on environmental restoration. The Fund is currently on the front lines, providing resources for critical humanitarian aid to families devastated by the floods in Gisele Bündchen’s home state of Rio Grande do Sul.

So excited to take part in my 3rd annual ALC ride in 2024! Biking is fun - but biking for a cause is even MORE fun! AIDS/LifeCycle is a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles raising money for SF Aids Foundation and the LA LGBT center. It is also the nation's largest HIV/AIDS fundraising and advocacy event. I'm so excited to participate again and to do my part in supporting these organizations that do incredible work and raising awareness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. We are raising monetary funds and hosting a donation drive to help support our local Richmond SPCA. The Richmond SPCA is a no-kill humane society that saves 4,000 dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies each year. In person donations will be accepted at our Richmond Office from June 24th through June 28th.
