A powerful earthquake struck western Nepal on November 3, 2023, resulting in hundreds of deaths and leaving hundreds more injured and displaced. The earthquake led to subsequent landslides, creating barriers to search and rescue efforts and causing massive damage to community infrastructure. Search and rescue efforts have now been concluded, and humanitarian aid is now the primary focus. The following organizations are providing aid to impacted communities in the form of emergency supplies and medical services. Please note that the organizations included in this Fund are subject to change as we learn more about needs on the ground.

The W.H.O. has declared COVID-19 a pandemic and public health emergency of international concern. Bright Funds has established The 2020 Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund, comprised of pre-vetted nonprofits based in the United States providing emergency response around the world and in the US. Through a single donation to the Fund, you can support multiple organizations' initiatives to provide short-term and long-term response and recovery. Given the ever-changing nature of this pandemic and widespread impact, the composition of the nonprofits in this Fund will evolve. Generally this fund will support healthcare, medical needs, vulnerable populations, nutrition/food support at both the local and international level.

The current diet of the average person in the west is not within the planetary boundaries nor in line with the Paris agreement. Yet this topic is often overlooked since the focus is mainly on the energy transition. However, even moving to a more plant based diet has direct impact on the environment. The organizations in this fund are giving their all for this cause. With your donation we can increase the effectiveness and provide even more resources with the ASML matching program so that these organization can do more good work. Especially now with the far right government, sustainability really needs you support in this. Next to this try to count the trees in the picture of this fund just to get an idea of how many trees and other plant species there are in an area like the Amazonian forest. This fund also aims to restore the Amazonian forest through the organization of famous photographer Sebastiao Salgado (in process to be added)
