A powerful earthquake struck western Nepal on November 3, 2023, resulting in hundreds of deaths and leaving hundreds more injured and displaced. The earthquake led to subsequent landslides, creating barriers to search and rescue efforts and causing massive damage to community infrastructure. Search and rescue efforts have now been concluded, and humanitarian aid is now the primary focus. The following organizations are providing aid to impacted communities in the form of emergency supplies and medical services. Bright Funds has created the Hispanic Heritage Fund to recognize the innumerable contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans. This Fund was created to honor the contributions and culture of Hispanic and Latino Americans. As the Israel-Gaza conflict erupts again, victims of violence are experiencing great humanitarian need. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is currently providing direct aid to civilians and humanitarian aid workers impacted, including medical resources, among other services. A powerful and devastating 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit western Afghanistan on October 7, 2023, primarily impacting the city of Herat, with thousands of reported deaths and thousands more injured. Villages, infrastructure, and homes have been destroyed, and relief efforts are currently underway. The following organizations are providing critical aid to those impacted in the form of food, water, shelter, supplies, and medical care, among other resources. Your donation to this Fund will help these organizations meet their shared goal of providing both immediate and long-term relief, the latter of which is currently under assessment. Help Put Our Kids on the Path to Success: Donate to the Rabobank Scholarship! This Scholarship was endorsed by the NAET to assist Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC ("BBBSNYC") students with essential expenses. Since 2018, the New York Markets team introduced a mentorship program with BBBSNYC, the nation's first and the city's largest youth mentoring organization. Rabobank staff have been serving as mentors (Bigs) to the high school students (Littles) through the BBBSNYC Workplace Mentoring Program. For the 2021 - 2022 year, Rabobank expanded its relationship with BBBSNYC by establishing the Rabobank Scholarship. During the first year of offering the Rabobank Scholarship, we raised over $17,000 for ten Littles! We hope with your help, we can re-create a positive impact for the senior students graduating this year — all of whom we have mentored since Sophomore year. You are eligible to receive matching funds for your donation, up to $ 500.00! The Rabobank Scholarship Fund campaign is open and live now until June 4, 2024. "At least 136 people have died in the floods since they began last week, and 125 more are missing, local authorities said Friday. The number of people displaced from their homes because of the torrential rains has surpassed 400,000, of whom 70,000 are sheltering in gyms, schools and other temporary locations". (AP News on 12 May 2024) People affected by the floods need clean water, warm clothes, blankets, hygiene products, and food. Many lost their homes and are living in improvised shelters as their towns and neighborhoods were heavily damaged or completely lost.

Recent floods in Brazil have left over a million people without homes and access to clean drinking water. Our colleagues and portfolio companies are among those affected by this tragedy. Given this, we would like to highlight Central Unica da Favela, a non-profit organization that is leading the main efforts to raise relief funds.
