2020 Bay Area Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund

About

The W.H.O. has declared COVID-19 a pandemic and public health emergency of international concern. We recognize that each community will have their own set of unique challenges in light of the Coronavirus. Bright Funds Foundation has established the 2020 Bay Area Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund to address the specific needs of the Bay Area community. Through a single donation to the Fund, you can support multiple organizations' initiatives to provide short-term and long-term response and recovery. Given the ever-changing nature of this pandemic and widespread impact, the composition of the nonprofits in this Fund will evolve.

Your Donation Supports

Silicon Valley Community Foundation

Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) is positioned to meet the ongoing needs of our local communities and take on unexpected challenges. SVCF is leading an effort with their other Bay Area philanthropic partners on a regional response to this public health crisis. Donations will support lead organizations and their immediate efforts to address COVID-19 related challenges.

San Francisco Marin Food Bank

The Food Bank continues to do the day-in and day-out job of making sure vulnerable neighbors get the food they need. Food banks are an essential service provider. They are working with San Francisco and Marin School Districts to host pop-up food pantries at schools that are offering to-go meals to students. When students and parents pick up their breakfast and lunch, they will also be able to get pre-bagged groceries to take home. This will help make sure families have the food they need.

Catholic Charities CYO of the Archdiocese of San Francisco

Their teams are on the front lines, tirelessly supporting those in the community most vulnerable and at-risk. Their essential services include housing and caring for people with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses. They support aging adults, adults with disabilities and immigrants. They provide food and care for seniors and families experiencing homelessness.

Destination: Home

Destination: Home is a public-private partnership ending homelessness in SiliconValley. Through our collective impact model, we convene and collaborate withstakeholders across our community to address the root causes of homelessnessand drive true systemic change. We embrace a data-driven and human approach- advocating for policies, incubating new ideas and programs, and investing instrategies to connect more of our homeless neighbors to a stable home andprevent homelessness before it begins. Our work is grounded in a commitment toadvancing racial and socioeconomic justice - and working together, we can builda community where homelessness is rare, brief and non-recurring.
